From the Chairman: Holy Family Academy Seeking Recognition from Bishop Olmsted

Dear Families and Friends of HFA,
The Holy Family Academy board along with Principal Graves met again recently with Harry Plummer, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Phoenix. We reviewed the Norms for Private/Independent Schools Seeking Recognition in the Diocese of Phoenix (the requirements to be officially recognized as a Catholic School in the Diocese of Phoenix). I am pleased to report that good progress is being made. We hope to complete the process and be officially recognized by Bishop Olmsted in the near future.
Mr. Plummer also reported that Bishop Olmsted has requested permission from the District Superior of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP), to allow Traditional Catholic Priests from Mater Misericordiæ (Mother of Mercy) Parish, located in Downtown Phoenix, to celebrate mass and hear confessions at our school. We are optimistic that we’ll soon be blessed by having these holy priests celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass and hear confessions at our school.
We are very grateful to Mr. Plummer for his help navigating this process, which is new to all of us. Without his help, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Please keep these things in prayer and, as always, pray for our school – the board, administration, teachers, volunteers, parents, students (and future students) of Holy Family Academy.
In the Holy Family,
John Janney
Board Chairman
