On a hot afternoon this summer, Holy Family Alumni Evan Latham (’24) was on duty in his General Services role at Mayo Clinic when a mom suddenly burst through the doors with her seven-year-old daughter who was having trouble breathing. Unfortunately, the child’s mother had brought her to a location far away from the Hospital Emergency Room. So, Evan quickly assessed the situation, sprang into action and whisked the little girl in his arms to the Mayo Emergency Room where she received treatment to clear her blocked airway. Staff said Evan may have very well saved the child’s life with his quick thinking.
Evan worked this summer at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix campus serving patients, physicians and staff in the Hospital and Specialty buildings. He is attending the University of Dallas majoring in Health Care Management.
