The year 2024 came to an end with Christmas cheer, final exams and a well-deserved break. Students, families and faculty participated in several activities during Advent in preparation for Christmas.
The Feast of St. Nicholas was celebrated on Dec. 5. All students were surprised with treats in shoes they had previously set aside when they arrived at school. The seniors also hosted St. Nicholas trivia for the Upper Academy.
On Dec. 7, our American Heritage Girl troop organized a Sweets with St. Nick event for HFA families and friends. Families took pictures with St. Nick, enjoyed cookies and hot cocoa, made ornaments and enjoyed visiting with each other. Thank you to Mrs. Mindee Arritt for all her hard work making the morning memorable.
Students decorated the school for Christmas with special attention to the Chapel in preparation for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Fr. Saenz celebrated a special Mass to commemorate this important Feast Day.
The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe was celebrated on Dec.12 with a special performance by Ballet Folklorico. Students enjoyed the colorfully dressed dancers and sweet treats provided.
The annual Tidings and Tinsel performance was a hit on Dec. 13. Students from each grade sang a variety of Christmas and winter songs to the delight of their parents and their siblings. The grand finale this year was an homage to HFA sung to the tune of YMCA.
The last week of school found Upper Academy students studying hard for their semester examinations.
Dec. 20 marked the final Mass for 2024 and the start of Christmas/New Year break.
We wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas vacation.
See you next year!
