Carmel fell in love with teaching when helping college classmates edit their essays and teaching English immersion summer camps in Italy. Upon graduating from Thomas Aquinas College with a BA in Liberal Arts, she returned to her native San Francisco Bay Area to pursue a career in education.
Carmel worked in tutoring for six years, managing several offices and teams, before becoming a founding faculty member at Stella Maris Academy, a new classical Catholic school, and working toward her teaching credential with the Institute of Catholic Liberal Education.
Carmel is thrilled to join the Holy Family Academy community due to her passion for faithful Catholic education and the Latin Mass. She aims to help each student realize the great plans God has in store for him and impart an excitement in the adventures of learning, heroism, and sanctity.
When not teaching, Carmel loves singing, hiking, chocolate, trying to write poetry, and, most recently, directing plays.
