Miss Saldana has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies Certificate from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. While at ASU, she had the opportunity to study a semester at the Universidad Europea de Madrid and Colegio Oficial Aparejadores de Edificación de Madrid through the ASU Global Flex Education program.
Miss Saldana is a native Spanish speaker and attended school in Guanajuato, Mexico until she was 12 years old. Then, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to finish her studies. While in high school, she obtained her Associate’s degree by taking dual enrollment as she learned English. She has worked with children and she volunteered to be a tutor at her old middle school and at the Boys and Girls Club. She discovered that she would love to teach and help students to learn the Spanish language.
In her free time, she likes to read books, watch movies and spend time with her little siblings, parents and grandparents by trying new restaurants. She loves going to Mexico every time she has the chance to and to explore the architectural features of the beautiful Catholic Churches.
“I am excited to teach at HFA, I think finding this opportunity to teach my first language is a gift from God. I am glad to be part of HFA because I feel like I am surrounded by family and I am ready to give my best every day to accomplish HFA’s mission. Together will inspire students to make the world a better place with God’s divine help”.
