We Are the Champions — AGAIN!!!

Holy Family Academy’s boys’ baseball and girls’ soccer teams won their Canyon Athletic Association (CAA) Division 1 State Championships last week.

The boys’ baseball team defeated the team from Trinity Christian School in Prescott earning their third State title. Under the continuing direction of Head Coach Dominic DeMark, the boys previously won state championships in 2019 and 2022. The team also celebrated having an undefeated season this year.

The Varsity girls’ soccer match against East Valley Athletes for Christ (EVAC) was a hard-fought and well-earned victory for the Lady Padres. After battling through two overtime periods with the score tied 1-1, the ladies secured back-to-back CAA State Championships with a 4-2 penalty kick shootout win. Under the direction of Head Coach Zach DeMark, they ended the season with a 13-2 overall record.

Earlier in the spring, the lower and middle academy girls’ soccer team won the Catholic Youth Athletic Association (CYAA) Championship for a second time. Head Coach Maria DeMark previously shepherded the girls to a CYAA Championship in 2024. The boys’ soccer team also won the CYAA Championship in 2024.

Congratulations to graduating Seniors Alexandra (Gator) DeMark and Sofia Graves for being named to All State Girls’ Teams during their high school careers. Gator was named to the All State Soccer team in 2025 and 2026. She will be joining the Arizona State University Women’s Soccer team this Fall. As a freshman, Sofia was a member of the girls’ varsity volleyball team that won 4 consecutive Girls’ Volleyball State Championships in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 and was named All State Volleyball Setter in 2022.

We are very proud of our student athletes. At Holy Family Academy, we strive to achieve a balance between academics and athletics with the realization that athletics play a vital role in forming the complete person. Athletics is part of the total picture of a healthy student, where physical health and competition must be present to support both the academic and spiritual growth of each student. Playing on a team also helps the students build collaboration and teamwork skills resulting in a strong sense of camaraderie. This has led to the success of many HFA teams even more than pure individual talent. Each student helps one another to succeed and to build these special lifetime memories.

Go Blue!! Go Gray!!!!
