“Prepare ye the way….”

Advent at HFA

Students, families and faculty have been busily preparing for Christmas in this Advent season.

The Feast of St. Nicholas was celebrated on Dec. 5. Students enjoyed the treats they found in shoes they previously set aside. Students learned about St. Nicholas’ legacy and prayed that his spirit of compassion would fill HFA’s community and homes during this Advent.

Upper Academy students decorated the school for Christmas with special attention to the Chapel in preparation for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8.

On Dec. 9, our American Heritage Girl Troop had the privilege of Christmas caroling at the VA Home. Thank you, AHG, for sharing the true spirit of Christmas!

Dec. 12 was a very busy day. Sweet treats were shared in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

That evening, the annual Tidings and Tinsel performance was warmly received by family and friends. Students from each grade sang a variety of Christmas and carols including Veni, Veni Emmanuel sung in Latin. The grand finale was Wouldn’t It Be Nice with an exciting snow “flurry.”

Many thanks to Principal Graves, Miss Monica Hable (Upper Academy mathematics teacher), Miss Carmel Richard (Latin and music teacher), and Anthony Lopez (class of ’23) for their work to make the event a tremendous success.

Dec. 19 marked the final Mass for 2025. Students presented Fr. Saenz with his Christmas present and enjoyed various Secret Santa and other parties with their friends.

A Special Christmas Message from Our Students
