A Busy Fall at Holy Family Academy

Holy Family Academy students participated in a variety of activities this fall. In September, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team travelled to Tombstone for a match in the afternoon and spent the rest of day learning about Tombstone history. They visited the Tombstone Epitaph newspaper office, Boot Hill and the site of shootout at the OK Corral.

Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan was invited by Upper Academy History teacher Jerry Fitzpatrick to speak to his students. Sheriff Sheridan shared the story of his career in the Sheriff’s department, his love of the Constitution and his Catholic faith.

Journalist and 2 nd Amendment columnist for Breitbart News, AWR Hawkins was a guest speaker in Upper Academy Government class. He spoke to the juniors and seniors about current events and issues facing the nation.

On October 31, the Upper Academy students hosted an All Saints Day celebration for the Lower Academy children. The younger students enjoyed a variety of games, face painting and other activities. All the saints in heaven, pray for us!

In anticipation of the upcoming HFA production of The Wizard of Oz, the Drama Club hosted a movie night to support the musical. HFA families enjoyed watching the movie and snacking on the tasty Wizard of Oz themed treats.
