Another fall sports season has come to an end. Congratulations to all our teams for hard work and dedication to mastering the fundamentals of their sports.
The Varsity Girls Volleyball team, coached by Carli Auer, Rachel DeMark and Ellie Maneely, welcomed many new, young players to the team this year. Seniors Emily DeMark and Sofia Graves provided seasoned leadership throughout the season. Fans enjoyed several excellent matches during the end of season tournament.
Padres Boys Flag football participated in the Catholic Youth Athletic Association (CYAA) league. Under the guidance of Coach Jacob, the boys had a strong season with challenging match ups. Seniors Daniel Latham and Rory Hurley were steady leaders for their younger teammates.
The 5-7 th grade girls saw action in the Catholic Youth Athletic Association (CYAA) league. Head Coach Maria DeMark and Assistant Coaches Theresa Lopez and Maggie Obernuefemann helped the girls learn the fundamentals of the game and led them to several victories.
An exciting “first” for Holy Family Academy was celebrating Senior Alexandra “Gator” DeMark’s official signing as a member of the Arizona State University Women’s Soccer team. The entire study body cheered her on as she signed the contract to play. She was recruited by WVU, Alabama, Santa Clara, LSU, UNC, Brown, Dartmouth, Princeton, Florida and Michigan State. She chose Arizona State! We can’t wait to cheer her on next year!
